Hello, and welcome to my blog!
I’m Tosha Larios, and I’m thrilled to have you here on this journey with me. If you’re wondering what brings a Navy veteran, healthcare provider, sustainable farmer, baker, crafter, and financial strategist together, you’re in the right place. My life has been a blend of experiences and passions, each one feeding into the other, creating a vibrant tapestry of learning, growth, and creativity.
You see, I’ve always believed in the power of curiosity. It’s what drove me to starting college at 13 (yes, I was that kid who always asked “why?”), and it’s what continues to drive me today. But I don’t just learn for learning’s sake—I’m a firm believer in the value of putting knowledge into practice, refining processes, and continuously improving in every area of life.
On this blog, you’ll find a little bit of everything that makes me tick. I’ll share my experiences as a healthcare provider, where compassion meets expertise, and where every day brings a new lesson. You’ll get a peek into my life as a sustainable farmer, where I’m constantly looking for ways to live in harmony with the earth and grow food that nourishes both body and soul. And of course, I can’t wait to share my baking adventures and crafting projects with you—because what’s life without a little sweetness and creativity?
But there’s another side to me that I’m particularly excited to share: my love for numbers, specifically “advanced girl math.” This is where I bring together all my passions and skills to help others take control of their financial futures. I’ve developed strategies that are easy to understand and powerful in their impact, especially for women who want to feel empowered and confident in their financial decisions.
This blog is a reflection of my life—constantly evolving, always learning, and forever driven by a passion for making the world a little better, one day at a time. I hope you’ll join me on this journey, as we explore new ideas, share insights, and inspire each other to live with purpose and joy.
Thank you for being here. Let’s make something amazing together!
Warmly,
Tosha Larios
Embrace the Journey: A Message from Tosha Larios, Jack of Many Trades
Life is an incredible journey filled with twists, turns, and countless opportunities to learn, grow, and evolve. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being a jack of many trades, it’s that embracing the multifaceted nature of who you are can lead to a life of fulfillment and purpose.
I’ve worn many hats in my life—veteran, healthcare provider, sustainable farmer, baker, crafter, and proponent of advanced girl math. Each role has taught me valuable lessons and allowed me to connect with different parts of myself and the world around me. But more importantly, these experiences have shown me the beauty of being versatile, curious, and open to new possibilities.
1. Don’t Be Afraid to Explore
Often, we feel pressured to choose a single path, stick to it, and excel in that one area. But life isn’t always about following a straight line. Sometimes, it’s about exploring all the paths that intrigue you and seeing where they lead. My journey has taken me from the military to medicine, from farming to crafting, and each step has been a chapter in a story that’s uniquely mine.
Don’t be afraid to explore your interests, even if they seem unrelated or unconventional. Whether it’s learning a new skill, starting a side hustle, or pursuing a passion project, every experience adds to the richness of your life. It’s okay to be a jack of many trades—each trade brings its own rewards.
2. Find the Connections
One of the most fascinating aspects of being a jack of many trades is discovering the connections between seemingly unrelated pursuits. For example, my experience in healthcare has deepened my understanding of food as medicine, which aligns perfectly with my passion for sustainable farming. Baking allows me to apply the precision and patience I honed in the Navy, while crafting lets me express my creativity and attention to detail.
Finding these connections can be incredibly rewarding. It helps you see that nothing is wasted; every skill, every experience, contributes to a greater whole. This interconnectedness also opens up new opportunities—whether in business, personal growth, or relationships—that you might not have imagined before.
3. Stay Curious and Keep Learning
Curiosity is the driving force behind everything I do. It’s what keeps me motivated to try new things, learn new skills, and push the boundaries of what I think is possible. Whether I’m experimenting with a new recipe, diving into the latest financial strategy, or getting my hands dirty in the garden, I’m always learning.
The world is full of knowledge waiting to be discovered, and staying curious ensures that you never stop growing. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek out new experiences, and challenge yourself to learn something new every day. In doing so, you’ll find that the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.
4. Embrace the Unexpected
Life doesn’t always go according to plan, but that’s part of the adventure. Some of my most meaningful experiences have come from unexpected opportunities—moments when I said “yes” to something outside of my comfort zone. Whether it was transitioning from military service to civilian life, starting a blog about advanced girl math, or diving into sustainable farming, each new venture brought its own challenges and rewards.
Embracing the unexpected means being open to change and willing to adapt. It means seeing obstacles as opportunities and trusting that every twist and turn is leading you toward something valuable. When you embrace the unexpected, you allow life to surprise you in the best possible ways.
5. Share Your Journey
One of the greatest joys in life is sharing your journey with others. Whether it’s through teaching, mentoring, blogging, or simply connecting with people who share your interests, sharing what you’ve learned not only enriches others but also deepens your own understanding.
I’ve found immense satisfaction in sharing my experiences—whether it’s offering tips on financial strategies, sharing a new recipe, or inspiring others to embrace sustainable living. Your story has the power to inspire, motivate, and connect with others in ways you might not even realize.
Conclusion: Celebrate Your Multifaceted Life
Being a jack of many trades is something to celebrate, not shy away from. It’s about embracing the richness of your life, the diversity of your experiences, and the endless possibilities that come with being open to change and growth.
So, here’s my message to you: don’t feel pressured to fit into a single mold. Explore, learn, connect, and most importantly, enjoy the journey. Life is too short to be anything less than your most authentic, multifaceted self.
Embrace who you are, and remember that every trade, every skill, and every experience is a part of the incredible story you’re writing. Stay curious, stay inspired, and keep celebrating the wonderful, diverse person you are.
